Instructions: Automatic Wax Melter
🛠 Instructions: Optimize Automatic Wax Melter
With the Optimize wax melter, you can wax your bicycle chain safely, conveniently, and precisely. These instructions explain step-by-step how to operate it – in both automatic and manual modes.
1. Preparation
Adding wax:
Break wax into small pieces.
Automatic mode: use approx. 250g Optimize hot wax or fill to 2.7cm
Manual mode: Wax quantity can be chosen freely.
Connecting the device:
Plug in the power cord.
Start the device with the on/off switch.
The display shows the standard temperature of 62 °C.
2. Select operating mode
🔘 Automatic mode
For fully automatic, perfectly coordinated waxing.
Start:
Press the "PRG" button
The display will now show "SP1", and the red LED next to "Heat up" will light up.
Process:
SP1 – Heating up:
Wax is heated to 125 °C (duration: approx. 30 minutes).
Once the temperature is reached, an acoustic signal sounds (for 1 minute).
Now insert the chain.
SP2 – Waxing:
The device automatically lowers the temperature to 90 °C.
The wax remains there for 10 minutes.
SP3 – Cooling down:
The temperature is further lowered to approx. 62–65 °C.
This is maintained for another 10 minutes.
SP4 – Finish:
The display shows "SP4", the LED next to "Ready" lights up.
Another acoustic signal sounds for 1 minute.
The chain can now be removed.
⚙️ Manual mode – individual control
For experienced users or special requirements.
Temperature range: 35–125 °C
Control via “+” / “–” buttons on the control panel
Ideal for:
-Using more than 250g of wax
-Several chains at the same time
-Using third-party wax with different viscosity
3. Notes for automatic operation
Adhere strictly to the wax quantity: Only with 250g of Optimize hot wax is the process correctly coordinated.
Place the lid on during heating: This ensures even temperature distribution.
Always use only one chain per cycle: For maximum penetration and safety.
Do not use third-party waxes: They can falsify the temperature profile because they require a different temperature absorption in the heating program to melt completely
4. Technical safety reserve
The device operates with deliberately set temperature tolerances to compensate for differences in wax quality, environment, and manufacturing:
Heating: approx. 90–125 °C
Waxing: approx. 90 °C
Ready for removal: approx. 65 °C with acoustic signal
Tip:
Only use original Optimize hot wax for optimal results – developed for reliable wax absorption, perfect temperature control, and maximum chain care.
