Description

The development and production of this chain tool took over a year! But it turned out truly magnificent...

Probably the first and last chain tool you'll ever need.

Made from the finest stainless steel on a 5-axis CNC milling machine, then matte brushed for a durable finish. The pin is made of hardened steel, matte nickel-plated, and replaceable. The tool has an M12 fine thread with a 1.0 pitch and an adjustable metal clamp to secure the chain in the tool. Thanks to the very flat fine thread and the large rotary knob, the chain can be riveted effortlessly.

Compatibility: SRAM, Shimano, Campagnolo, Connex, KMC, YBN

Important care instructions:

  1. The thread should be regularly cleaned with a microfiber cloth and re-greased; we recommend way oil.
  2. Store in a dry and warm place.
  1. Adjust the L-plate to the corresponding chain width with a T-8 key and then carefully tighten it again.
  2. Ensure that the pin does not touch the L-plate; this should not be the case with 10-13 speed chains.
  3. Place the chain in the tool and make sure that the tool hits the center of the rivet and can press it out cleanly.

FAQs: Optimize chain splitter

Which chains is the chain rivet tool compatible with?

The chain tool is compatible with common systems from SRAM, Shimano, Campagnolo, Connex, KMC, and YBN. Suitable for modern 10- to 13-speed chains.

Why does this rivet nut have an M12 fine thread?

The M12 thread with a 1.0 pitch ensures particularly controlled and effortless operation. The shallow thread pitch allows the rivet to be pressed out precisely and without jerky force – this reduces the risk of incorrect pressing.

What do I need to consider regarding care and use?

- Regularly clean and re-grease the threads (e.g., with way oil)
- Store in a dry, warm place
- Adjust the L-plate correctly to the chain width using a T-8 wrench
- Ensure the mandrel does not touch the L-plate
- When riveting, make sure the mandrel hits the rivet exactly in the center

Company History

Lubricant Solution Made in Germany

Optimize was founded in April 2022 by me, Felix, because no chain wax available on the market convinced me in terms of lubrication performance and cleanliness. Since mid-2023, I have been running Optimize full-time with great passion, now supported by a small team. Our goal is well-designed products that solve real problems and make chain waxing easier – with technical solutions that other providers don't implement.
